PEOPLE approach

Many of my facilitation missions have grown organically. Some people I knew asked spontaneously for active mentoring, coaching or advice based on past interaction.

I specialise in helping people who are in extreme complex and difficult situations:

  • generational problems in families,

  • extreme divorce or familial problems,

  • gay/lesbian 'outing' of married couples,

  • families with a member who has an extreme health problem (cancer),

  • ...

At the core of my conversations, I encourage specific behaviours tailored to your situation.

I favour transparent communication, and act persuasively.

Read a few testimonials to have a flavour of the feedback.

ensuring a respectful separation, when the husband 'came out' as gay

Melissa and Koenraad have been married for over 20 years with three wonderful children.

Recently, Koenraad aligned more and more with his true gender and admitted to his wife that he was gay since his childhood and therefore not capable of fully responding to her expectations as a partner and father.

His love and respect were still strong, but the fear of separation and the overwhelming truth prevented both from moving forward, which accumulated into regular and painful fights.

Through several sessions, Roeland brought the essence and common interest back into perspective for both, which led to a respectful separation, including a proper agreement concerning their common goods.

Melissa and Koenraad are now living fully aligned with their values and are on excellent speaking terms in the best interest of their children.

MEDIATION/Facilitation
solving a major DIVORCE/separation issue

A lawyer introduced me to a couple stuck in a horrible divorce fight for several years. Deadlocked to the extreme, they completely stopped talking to each other. The ex-partner was so distraught that she could not imagine sitting in the same room with her ex-husband again.

She had been manipulated and disappointed over the last years and lost complete confidence in a possible positive separation. Because of severe pressure on financial engagements, the ex-husband did not honour some fundamental commitments anymore, whilst getting in deep financial trouble. She wanted to start a new life! He desperately wanted to get back into a relationship with her.

After five months of regular mediation and facilitation sessions, we addressed a lot of difficult emotions and were able to refocus expectations. Slowly but surely, we progressed towards a consensus that both accepted and agreed to a signed compromise.
Together they cleared all the financial debts, finalised the separation, and both parties will be able to continue with their lives. They can now consider the future again in a much brighter and more stable atmosphere…

FACILITATION
rebuilding PERSONAL tRUST AND MOTIVATION

A large company's Managing Director contacted me because there was a major issue with the Commercial Director of that organisation, handling their most innovative and trending product. They decided to fire the person in question the day before the call. The situation had become a critical personal issue for all those concerned!

I started to facilitate between the two parties to understand their motivations and how it came to this definite & difficult decision. Together with the company's Managing Director and the Commercial Director, they discovered a misalignment with the values, a clash of cultures and their expected business results. There was also a significant personal issue with the Commercial Director's role and responsibilities. Therefore the situation became very tense with extreme emotions.

The decision was reversed thanks to active listening, facilitation, and in-depth situational analysis. As a result, we adjusted the responsibilities of the Commercial Director and the company Management re-aligned with their core values.
As a result, they averted personal losses and a severe business setback.
Serenity and motivation replaced disappointment & anger.
